Acantochelys spixii

More commonly known as the Black Spiny-necked Turtle or Spix's Sideneck Turtle (why this one doesn't have a hyphen between "side" and "neck", but the others do, is beyond me), this species of turtle is native to Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay. This species is the type species for the Acantochelys genus. In other words, this genus is directly linked to this species of turtle, so, if there are any revisions, the genus will stay constant with this species. Later I will add their SCL, synonymy, holotype, type location, IUCN listing, and images!
