More commonly known as the Eastern Snake-necked Turtle or the Common Snake-necked Turtle, this species of turtle is native to Australia. This species is the type species for the Chelodina (Chelodina) Subgenus. In other words, this Subgenus is directly linked to this species of turtle, so, if there are any revisions, the Subgenus will stay constant with this species.
