More commonly known as the Northern Snake-necked Turtle, this species of turtle is native to Australia, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea. Current research is trying to decide if the populations in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea are distinct species or not (see C. kurrichalpongo for more details).
