These are your Side-necked and Snake-necked turtles! These are pretty much all in the southern hemisphere. They inhabit areas like Africa, South America, and Australia. This Superfamily was first proposed by Gray et al. (1825) as "Chelidina". It has since been accepted, with its name being changed to "Cheloidea" in 2021 by the Turtle Taxonomy Working Group.
